Completed Challenge #4: Favorite Movie

Great job, everyone! If you want to see close-ups, you can click on the picture!

This is 221b Baker St, Sherlock Holmes's apartments. It’s a combination of movie and book references, so I thought it would be perfect since I missed the literary themed challenge, and this week's is your favorite movie.
 Sean, age 18

(Wow Sean! I can't believe how well you did! And how accurate! Trumpets! Drums!)

Kadie Silebi, Age 7, This is my lego picture of Belle from "Beauty And The Beast". Belle is in a library, reaching up to get a book.
(Wow, Kadie! That's really good!)

This is my lego TARDIS interior, from the show Doctor Who. (BBC) The doors open,
the chair swivels, the console and tubey timey wimey thingy light up,
and it includes 10 custom minifigs: Amy Pond, 9th Doctor, 10th Doctor,
11th Doctor, Clara Oswald, K-9, a cyberman, Dalek Sec, strategist Dalek, and scientist Dalek.
I gave Clara a 1x2 white tile for a soufflé recipe, and wrote on it with a fine tip sharpie.
For those of you who do not watch Doctor who, (and I hope you all DO watch it!)
it is about a time traveler called The Doctor, and his time machine, called the TARDIS, (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space), which is bigger on the inside, and on the outside is disguised as a blue phone box. Click here to see a picture and click here to see the TARDIS interior. The Doctor always travels with a companion, some of which include Rose Tyler, Martha Jones, Donna Noble, Amy Pond, And Clara Oswald. Oh, and if you don't watch Doctor Who and you don't start watching, YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED! If you do watch it, leave a comment saying so!
By Peregrine.

"Doctor, where are we?" "Er, my best guess is we are on a blog."

 EXTERMINATE!!!

Its hard to see, but the bulby flashy lighty thing IS lighting up!

Benjamin, age 8:
This is a scene from America's Funniest Home Videos! It is one of my favorite shows. This has the studio audience, the host, and the funny videos playing in the background behind tv screens. It always makes me laugh so I love that show!

(AAAUUUGGGHHH!!!!! A HORSE! HHHHEEELLLPPP!!!!!!  Great job!)

This is my favorite movie, Emmett from the Lego movie.
Ricky 7
(Nice, Ricky!)

This is my Lego battle of Lothlorian. (Lord of the Rings)
Israel, age 11
(Nice Israel! I Like the wood shelter!)

Completed Challenge # 3: Literary Inspiration

Hi guys! Thanks for all the awesome book submissions. I'm sorry I'm putting this out a day late, but I was up in Portland yesterday and didn't have time to do it. I love seeing the range of books here, from early reader books to novels like Harry Potter. I like that some of you used actual sets while others made their own creation. Great work, everybody! I will post the next challenge soon.
Please leave comments for each other!

My Lego creation is from the  Harry Potter series. The author is J.K.Rowling. This is my model of the Hogwarts castle.  It has moving stairs and spinning doors.

Joshua
(Wow, Joshua! I haven't read the Harry Potter books but I've done some research and know something about them. I can recognize the tower pieces from the actual set, and I like that you have torches on them.)

 Another view of Joshua's model

Book: The Neverending Story
By: Ralph Manheim
Atreyu and Artax entering the Swamps of Sadness.....
I didn't really like this part of the story because Artax sinks into the swamps and dies but I picked it because it reminds me not to give up, no matter how sad I feel. Benjamin Silebi- age 8

(Way to go, Benjamin! I have not read The Neverending Story but I will look for it at the library. Is Atreyu the horse or the boy? The Swamps of Sadness is an appropriate name.)

Benjamin with the Swamps of Sadness.

This is my creation from Star Wars the Clone Wars, The Mandalore  Plot, by
John Lindberg.  The Mandalorian Star Fighters wings fold into flying position and the landing gear comes up.

Digory emerged from the pool in the wood between the worlds. Polly is waiting!
By Diego, Age 5.

(Wow, Diego! I really love how you gave them each the yellow and the green rings. I hope Jadis doesn't catch Polly! I'm sorry we couldn't figure out how to post your movie but we really liked it! You did a great job and I'm glad that app!)

This is a scene from the Hardy Boys book "The Cactus Thieves" by Franklin W. Dixon. The maniac with the gun happens to be the park owner who's trying to keep the wildlife from being ruined. But he wasn't getting paid much so he decided to steal and sell cactuses. He tried to get the Hardy Brothers away from the investigation by framing someone else. The dude on the slippery sidewalk is something I added on. (I didn't have tan pieces for the desert, so I used snow.)
                                                               ----Adam, 10

(Wow, Adam! That is a great re-creation of The Cactus Theives! I've read the book and I think snow might actually be cooler. It could be a rare breed of cactus that only grows in the snow and is worth a whole lot of money!)

This is a ship from treasure island the author is Robert Louis Stevenson. It is when the good guys still owned the ship. I am Elisha and I am 13
(That is so cool, Elisha! It almost looks like a stone castle that's floating. I guess that would be really strong, a floating stone castle! I like how you made the jolly boat in tow!)

This is my creation from my favorite book, the race for chi.
It is from lego Chima. I like Chima a lot, so I built something from it.
My name is Ryland, and I am nine.
(That is so cool, Ryland! I loved how you only used sets. It makes it look super cool. I didn't know you had Cragger; did you just get him?)

Completed Challenge # 2: Olympics and Lego Movie

Hi everyone! Great work on all the amazing creations! Don't forget to leave comments.

The Sochi commemorative airliner with a distinctive "smaller" 5th ring. Miles, 8
(Great job, Miles! I love how you even remembered one of
the rings failed to open up!)

Hello! My name is Benjamin. I am 8 years old. This is my lego scene I built from the Lego movie. I love Legos! Thanks for letting me be a part of this club.

(Great work, Benjamin! I love how you made a custom car for Batman and also you used the Supercycle from the set! Emmet looks pretty scared.)

This is my custom made Lego Emmet from The Lego Movie.
Israel, 11

(Way 2 go! I love how you animated his mouth and the speech bubble. That's one of my favorite lines!)

Colorful swirling thing from Lego movie.
Ricky, 6

(Wow, Ricky, that looks very colorful like a rainbow! I haven't seen the Lego movie yet so I'll look forward to seeing this part.)

Here's a custom  fig I made for the Olympic biathlon (a game that combines cross country skiing and rifle shooting). P.S. I forgot the to put skis in the pic.
Sean, 18

(Awesome, Sean! I really love how you used different things like paint. I have a good friend who does a lot of customization like that. And the background is absolutely awesome!)

I love snowboarding. [It reminds me of
skateboarding.] That's why I did it.
The guy in black is on a rocket-powered snowboard.
Even though he's cheating he'll end up last or 6th place.
Because he'll crash into the guy in first and fall down.
When he falls down he'll get run over and by the time he gets
up and goes he'll be last.

                                         ----Adam Huerta,10

(Awesome, Adam! It serves that cheater right! I hope someone who isn't cheating wins that giant trophy on top. I really like how you used hinged pieces to make a slope.)

Hey guys! This Star Wars guy is on skis and is about to go off a huge jump. The person on the snow board at the bottom has the best time fans around him cheering for him. What you can't see is another skier getting on a lift to go back up to retry. I did not introduce myself last time. I am Ezra miller. Elisha is my brother. I am also really super good friends with Peregrine. I have been traveling for six years ever since I was five. I am eleven and I loved last weeks creations! I can't wait till I can see all of the new ones that Peregrine is going to post next week! The things going up the mountain are ski lifts. The grey patch is the bottom of the jump. Well, that's all.

(Awesome, Ezra! I love how you make ski lifts, fans, and that you made another guy who didn't make it and wants to try again. Really good work. Five star creation!)

Tornado Bobsled.
By Ryland, Age 9

(Wow, Ryland, I really love it! With that propeller on top I bet he goes super fast. Does the propeller create a tornado to suck up opponents?)

Finally, this is my Sochi 2014 Olympic ski competition.
The seats are 2 rows high,  there are multiple ski jumps,
and I made custom athletes for Russia, Canada, USA,
Great Britain, and Italy! There is a loudspeaker on the
overlook, and I even made a man with a pistol to start the
race!

Another view of my ski course.

Stay tuned for the next challenge!

Completed Challenge #1: Robots

                                                                               Hi guys!

Thanks for all the super cool robots! You all did great! I loved how Sean used flesh colored rounded plates! They look like muscles! And Ryland decided to do a sports-bot instead of a battle-bot! Creations ranged from micro-scale to foot tall giants! Some used a base color, while others used all the colors they could find! With weapons and bot types ranging from mechs and space machetes to volcano bots and total annihilation guns, I hope this horde of robots doesn't revolt!

I left you all some comments in parenthesis. Please leave comments for each other at the end of the post.
My Lego robot with eyes made out of cannons.
Ricky, age 6
(Wow, Ricky! I love the cannon eyes! can he see through the cannonballs? That's awesome! Good work Ricky!)

This is my lego assassin bot. It has a laser cannon and a space machete.

Israel, Age 11

(Incredisuper! I love how you used solid grey for its body, and red for the eyes! The grill for the mouth and control panels on its chest!! He looks like a master assassin! Great work Israel! )

Hi guys! this is is my volcano robot with knifes at his ankles, a machine guns on his back, a knife in one hand, and in the other he has two switchblades, he has a strong hand made out of stone with poison spines most of the way up it. For everyone who dose not know me I am Elisha I have traveled for six and a half years And I am 13 years old.
(Weapons, weapons, weapons! I love that! With all those weapons, he sure sounds like a dangerous one!)

My awesome altimet war robot six inches tall.

Ezra, age 11

(Wow, Ezra! I don't know what Altimet means but I bet it's something awesome.) I like how he has a shield and how it looks like he has an eyeball at his feet. Great work, Ezra!)

My name is Ryland and I am 9. I like Beyblades, animals and sports. My robot is a Ski Jumping Robot. His first jump was awesome but he fell apart when he crash landed!
(T
hat is totally CRAZILY AWESOME!!!! I love how you did something unique and that kind of fits the mood because of the Olympics.)

Tiny police robot! Diego likes to build things on a tiny scale, he is 5 years old and loves to be creative with his building!
(Wow, Diego, I like how he has blue and white piece on him to make him look kind of official! And how you put transparent pieces on his bottom to make him look like he's hovering! I really love it!)

Here is my submission for the Lego robot.

Sean, 18 year old Lego enthusiast who will build just about anything.
(Wow, Sean! he looks kinda creepy with that mouth! Super awesome!)

Another view of Sean's robot.

Joshua (12 years old) - I like root beer floats and soccer.
My robot has a cannon on the right arm and a shield and an ammo compartment on the left arm.
(Wow, Joshua! Good thing he has an ammo compartment, or he would be done for!
great work! Peregrine.)
I got the idea from Astro Boy. I made it for military use: to crush and destroy any enemies of the country that owns it. It's left arm has a gun built into it for total annihilation.

---Adam
    (age 10)
(Wow, Adam! Does he have an electro-staff on his back? great!
peregrine)
I'm age 8 and my name is Miles.
I like lego star wars and have 4 brothers and 2 sisters. I live in Walla Walla, WA
(Wow Miles! Is that an eye on top? Pretty sweet!)

Finally, this is my robot! He has a giant sword and a cannon on one arm, a huge claw on the other, and a space for a guy to sit inside. The front window folds down and the guy can see through it. I used pieces from Hero Factory sets to make the arms and legs.

Thanks again, everyone! This was great. Stay tuned for the next challenge!
